Bible Study at Pattison United Methodist Church Sundays & Tuesdays
Sundays at 4:30 p.m. (starting February 12th – March 25th )
Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. (starting February 7th – March 20th )
This 7 week study is open to the community and there is NO cost for materials.  Each class is 90 minutes.

Waller County Trail Association looking for leaders and committee members
The Waller County Trail Association is looking horsemen, bicyclists, and hikers who desire safe paths through
beautiful Waller County restricted to pedestrian, equestrian, and HPV (Human Powered Vehicle) traffic. WCTA needs
leaders and committee members to help make its vision of a trail through Waller County a reality. President Pro-tem is

Re-registration of Marks & Brands
In accordance with Article 144.044 of the Agriculture Code, the next re-registration period for Marks & Brands
begins August 31, 2011 and concludes on February 29, 2012.  After the conclusion date all Marks & Brands
that have not been re-registered will automatically be available for registration by another party.
Brands MUST be registered in the county clerk’s office in the county where livestock are housed.  Brands for
Waller County should be registered at the Waller County Clerk’s office located in the county courthouse at 836 Austin St.,
Suite 217 in Hempstead.  Office hours are 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Monday – Friday.

 Cub Scout Pack 423 meets Mondays
Every Monday at 7:00 p.m. at Brookshire Methodist Church located at 707 Cooper in Brookshire.
Brookshire/Pattison boys 1st grade through 5th grade are invited to join Cub Scouts.
Cub Scouting provides a positive place where boys can enjoy safe, wholesome activities that focus on building character, improving physical fitness, teaching practical skills, and developing a spirit of community service.

Career & Recovery Resources Now Offering Computer Lab
Career and Recovery Resources, Inc. is now offering updated computer lab for new versions.
The tutorial is offered by Professor Teaches in Excel 2010 Advanced, Excel 2010, Explorer 8,
Outlook 2010, Powerpoint 2010, Publisher 201, Windows 7 and Word 2010.
Beginners classes are still begin offered. Tutorial classes offered at your own pace.

NEW Kiwanis Club of West Houston
The Kiwanis Club of West Houston is forming a Satellite Club in Brookshire. This organization of volunteer is dedicated to changing the world one child and one community at a time.  "Kiwanis" means "We trade" or "We share our talents".  
Their mission is to serve the children of the world, build leaders at every level from the youngest Kiwanis Kids all the way

 Friends of Royal FFA Support Brookshire/Pattison Food Pantry
The Friends of the Royal FFA are sponsoring a Food Drive to benefit the Brookshire/Pattison Food Pantry.

Waller County Commissioners Court Meetings|
Meetings are the second and fourth Tuesday of each month at 9:00 a.m. in the Commissioners Courtroom
on the second floor in the Waller County Courthouse in Hempstead.

Royal ISD offering GED classes
Royal ISD had teamed up with Region 4 Education Service Center to bring the citizens of Brookshire and
surrounding areas GED classes at the Royal Elementary School.
Classes are in progress and meet Mondays and Tuesdays 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
You need to have your driver’s license, social security card, and parent/guardian if you are a minor or participate.

Angel Food Ministries - First United Methodist Church of Brookshire
First United Methodist Church of Brookshire, host site for Angel Food Ministries, announces online ordering.
Go to www.angelfoodministries.com and select the online order item on the side bar menu.
The screen will ask for a zip code. Input the zip code for Brookshire, 77423, and this brings up the screen for ordering.
Orders accepted on Wednesdays from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at First United Methodist Church, 707 Cooper at 7th street;
Tuesdays from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. & Wednesdays from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Manna House on Hwy. 359,
and Monday-Friday
from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Judge Ted Krenek's office in Pattison.
Orders made in person must be accompanied by either cash (exact change) or money order made out to FUMC Brookshire.
UPDATED INFORMATION  Announcing LOWER PRICES and GREATER VARIETY in the food boxes. 
For example, the regular box which feeds a family of 4 for about one week or an individual for about one month is now only $29. An "After school" box, fruit and veggie box, a variety of meat boxes and a GLUTEN-FREE box are also available, as well as convenience boxes which contain 10 cooked, frozen, ready to heat and serve meals. 
ANGEL FOOD BOXES ARE FOR EVERYONE!  THERE IS NO INCOME QUALIFICATION.
Onsite orders must be placed on the Wednesday of the week prior to pick up/distribution. 
Pick up/distribution is the 4th Saturday of the month from 8:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. at FUMC Brookshire regardless
of whether the order was placed onsite or online.  Any boxes not picked up will be donated to a family in need.

LAST MONDAY of Each Month Pattison Area Heritage Society Meeting
The Pattison Area Heritage Society monthly meeting is every LAST Monday at 7 p.m. at the Pattison Area Volunteer Fire Department (EXCEPT in December and May). We interview members of the community about their recollections
from the past of growing up in this area. The stories are priceless! Event is free. For more information,

“Life on the Farm is the theme for the 2012 Livestock Show parade.
7:30
a.m., Trail ride groups will tag in at the “old” Hard Times lot, located in Pattison.
8:30
a.m., Sign-in registration and assemble at the intersection of Koomey Road & Hwy 90, north and west of the Brookshire police station.  There is no entry fee.
10:30
a.m., the parade will promptly commence through downtown Brookshire.
Participant groups will be judged on creativity and showmanship.
First, second, and third places will be awarded in each category. 
A trophy for “Best of Theme” will be presented to the overall winner. 
A traveling trophy is up for grabs to the Royal ISD campus who best displays the spirit of the theme. 
12:45 p.m.-- parade awards will be presented at Royal High School.
Everyone is cordially invited to be a part of this great community tradition!
